It’s time to woman up
In partnership with UH Seidman Cancer Center, Mercy has launched a screening campaign, “Woman Up”.
According to United States Cancer Statistics, Ohio ranks sixth in overall deaths from breast cancer. Women can survive this disease if the cancer is detected early. That is why we are encouraging all women to take care of themselves and schedule their screening now. Women 40 and older should have an annual screening mammogram.
“Woman Up” is a campaign to engage women in overcoming their fear of pain, fear of cancer and lack of understanding the guidelines. This is an empowering message that women are strong. Women do much harder tasks than getting a mammogram and yet, annual screenings are declining nationally.
